Islands Health Adapt is our modular insurance product that flexes to meet your business healthcare needs to make sure your workforce is taken care of. The plan comes with a core level of cover and then you'll get to choose from a range of optional modules.

You can choose to pay in monthly, quarterly or annual payments. If you decide to pay annually, we'll offer you a 5% discount.

24/7 health support line

If your employees have a question about their health, they can call or email our 24/7 health support line. They’ll be supported by our team of experienced health professionals including nurses, midwives, counsellors and pharmacists.

Your team will have access to our extensive medical network. We’ll be able to arrange payment with these providers directly, meaning less paperwork to complete and fewer out-of-pocket expenses.

If you select the Outpatient module, you’ll have access to the healthcare payment card to make smaller payments simple.

Core module

Included in all plans 


No matter what modules you choose, your employees will have our Core module. 
It has no overall limit, but some treatment may have a seperate limit. 


Treatment covered under this module includes: 

 

  • Hospital charges as an inpatient or a day patient 
  • A wide range of cancer treatment including radiotherapy, chemotherapy and biological therapies 
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation
  • Surgery
  • Ambulance transport
  • Parental accommodation – if your employee’s child is having treatment covered by the plan, a parent can stay nearby. 
  • Accidental damage to teeth
  • Inpatient psychiatric treatment
  • Outpatient psychiatric treatment up to £2,500 a year
  • £100 a night cash benefit when your employees receive free inpatient treatment.

Build your plan with a choice of additional modules

You have a choice between three limits. The limit you select is the maximum amount we’ll pay for treatment covered under the Outpatient module, per person, per year.  

  • £1,000 or 
  • £2,500 or 
  • Paid in full 

The Outpatient module covers your employees for outpatient consultations with a specialist, diagnostic tests and physiotherapy. With this module, your employees will also benefit from our innovative healthcare payment card. 

Requires the Outpatient module to be selected  

You have a choice between three limits. The limit you select is the maximum amount we’ll pay for treatment covered under the GP module, per person, per year.  

  • £500 or 
  • £800 or 
  • Paid in full* 

The GP fees module provides your employees with primary care services provided by a general practitioner. 

*The paid in full GP fees module limit can only be chosen if the £2,500 or paid in full Outpatient module limits have been included.

Requires the Outpatient module to be selected  

You have a choice between three limits. The limit you select is the maximum amount we’ll pay for treatment covered under the Drugs and dressings module, per person, per year.  

  • £200 or 
  • £300 or 
  • £400 

The Drugs and dressings module covers outpatient drugs and dressings that have been prescribed by a medical practitioner or nurse. 

Requires the Outpatient module to be selected  

You have a choice between two limits. The limit you select is the maximum amount we’ll pay for treatment covered under the Dental care module, per person, per year.  

  • 80% up to £400 or 
  • 80% up to £700 

The Dental care module covers your employees for non-routine dental treatment (non-routine dental treatment, for example replacing crowns, and routine dental treatment, such as check-ups, and scale and polish). 

Requires the Outpatient module to be selected  

You have a choice between two limits. The limit you select is the maximum amount we’ll pay for treatment covered under the Optical module, per person, per year.  

  • 80% up to £200 or 
  • 80% up to £400 

The Optical module covers your employee for one eye test a year (up to £60), prescription glasses and contact lenses.

Requires the Outpatient module to be selected  

You have a choice between three limits. The limit you select is the maximum amount we’ll pay for treatment covered under the Health check module, per person, per year.  

  • £200 or  
  • £500* or 
  • £1,000** 

The Health check module provides your employees cover for a health check. This could include checking resting blood pressure, cholesterol tests and cancer screening tests. 

*The £500 Health check module limit can only be selected if the £2,500 or paid in full Outpatient module limits have been chosen. 

** The £1,000 Health check module limit can only be selected if the paid in full Outpatient module limit has been chosen.

Virtual Doctor Service

Your employees can book a video consultation or request a call back in a language of their choice with our Virtual Doctor service.3

From the comfort of their home, hotel or office, they can speak to a doctor to get the medical support they need.

Mind Health service

Whatever mental wellbeing challenges your employees are facing, they'll be supported by a qualified psychologist through our Mind Health service. The service is available in several languages, and your employees are able to make an appointment at a time that suits them, wherever they are.

Supporting them to keep a clear mind, improving their productivity and wellbeing.

Second Medical Opinion service

If your employees recieve a diagnosis or treatment plan that they're feeling unsure about, they can access our Second Medical Opinion service.3 Supported by a network of over 50,000 specialists,4 the service will give them an independant review of any diagnosis or treatment plan to help them make an informed decision about their next steps.

1The AXA – Global healthcare Card app is provided by Paysure. The healthcare payment card from AXA is issued by Nium Fintech Limited pursuant to a licence by Visa Europe. Nium Fintech Limited is a company registered in England with company number 09039850, authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority as an Electronic Money Institution (Firm Reference Number: 901024).

3The Virtual Doctor, Second Medical Opinion and Mind Health services are provided by Teladoc Health and are part of our Virtual Care from AXA offering. Appointments are subject to availability.

Virtual Doctor service – Employees don’t need to pay or claim for a consultation, but they will be charged for the initial phone call when using the call back service. They won’t be charged if they request a call back using the app or online portal. Telephone appointments are available 24/7/365 and call-backs are typically within 24 hours. Video appointments in English, Spanish and Mandarin are available between 8:00 and 00:00 UK time, Monday to Friday. Video appointments in German are available between 8:00 and 20:00 CET, Monday to Friday. In Singapore, all appointments are only conducted by video and in English, between 8:00 – 00:00 UK time, Monday to Friday.

Mind Health psychologist appointments are available in English and Spanish between Monday and Friday, 09.00 – 21.00 (UK time). If you are calling from the UAE, appointments are available in Arabic, English and French between Saturday to Thursday, 09.00 – 20.00, and Friday 09.00 – 17.00 (UAE time). This service provides up to six sessions with a psychologist per non-emergency mind health concern, per year.
