International health insurance is a reassurance that employees value and look for in an employer. So good cover can help you keep your best talent, and give them the confidence and support they want to take their career global.

Flexible international healthcare for businesses

If you'd like your plan to start after 1st January 2025, our Global Health Adapt product will meet your business needs.

Providing you with a choice of modules, allowing you to build the plan that's right for you and your employees.

Simple to choose, simple to set up

With international health insurance, you can cover your employees worldwide. Simply choose whether you’d like to include the USA or not, then select one of our five cover levels. It’s that easy.

Each level adds more cover – for example for routine care and check-ups. And you can boost some cover levels with options including out-patient treatment, maternity or routine dental care. And you’re covered around the world for emergency care, with all but one of our cover levels.

To customise your cover further, you can choose different levels for different employees or groups of staff.

A benefit they’ll value

The ease and flexibility of international health insurance cover is something many employees look for from an employer. It’s a useful tool in developing your best talent– giving them the valuable reassurance that you’ll support them as they progress their career with you.

We’ll make it easy for you

Your time is precious and limited – so we’ll give you your own account manager to help out. They can help find a plan for your employees, add or remove members, and answer all your questions.

We can pay many providers directly, meaning less paperwork for you and your team too.

All of which means more time for everything else on your to-do list and you.

We go further to look after your people

Our service goes far beyond just insurance. Your people will also have:

Woman speaking to doctor through laptop

Unlimited access to our Virtual Doctor service

Your employees can speak to an experienced doctor by video consultation or by phone, from anywhere in the world - day or night. Included with all cover levels.

A second medical opinion for extra reassurance

If any of your employees are unsure about their diagnosis, they’ll have access to a team of independent medical experts over the phone. They can also have a doctor who’ll manage their case and speak to health providers in their language and help them get the best out of the local healthcare system.

Help finding the right healthcare provider

We can help your employees find the right specialist, hospital or clinic, wherever they are in the world. They can access healthcare from any provider, but to find one in our network, our online provider search tool can help find an AXA Select healthcare provider nearby. We can also pay these providers directly, so your employees don’t have to worry about it.

Health information helpline

If your employees start to feel symptoms while they’re on assignment, they can quickly and easily put their mind at rest by speaking directly to a nurse or counsellor 24/7, or a pharmacist or midwife at set hours. Midwives and pharmacists are available Monday to Friday from 08:00 to 20:00 GMT; Saturday and UK public holidays from 08:00 to 16:00 GMT; and Sunday 08:00 to 12:00 GMT.

Choosing the right cover for your business

Your plan, built for your business

Our business health insurance plans give your employees fast access to medical care whenever they need it, wherever they happen to be.

Here are some highlights of the cover you’ll find on all our plans.

What's included across all levels of cover:

  • Hospital charges as an in-patient or as a day‐patient
  • Surgery
  • Second Medical Opinion service – valuable reassurance if they’re just not sure
  • Emergency evacuation and repatriation – to get your people to the care they need and home again
  • Emergency in‐patient and day‐patient cover everywhere – if you select your area of cover to be worldwide
  • A wide range of cancer treatment
  • Ambulance transport – because this can cost more than you think
  • Parental accommodation – if your employee’s child is covered and needs treatment, parents can stay nearby
  • Accidental damage to teeth - (routine check-ups not included).
  • Medical conditions that start during pregnancy

What's not included:

As with most health insurance, there are some exclusions and limits, no matter which cover level you choose for your employees:

  • Depending on the underwriting you choose, our plans may only cover the treatment of medical conditions that start after your employees join. That means for fully medically underwritten plans, their plan will not cover pre‐existing conditions.
  • The plans only cover charges for treatment that are usual and customary in the country where your employees have the treatment.

The plans also don’t cover:

  • Planned treatment outside your employees area of cover or against medical advice.
  • Treatment for injuries as a result of sports that your employees receive money for taking part in.
  • Costs for arranging treatment, such as phone calls and travel.
  • Treatment designed to prevent illness rather than treat it.

This list is not exhaustive; the full list of what's not included is detailed in the handbook.
